Subject: how to download?
i just downloaded linux today and i have no idea how to download, for example firefox. I click to install then it brings me to an downloads folder and i go to there and theres a firefox folder which has all the firefox files in it and from there on i dont know what to do, when i extract the file nothing happens, also when i try to go to youtube or another site that uses flash it doesnt let me download the plugin, i click to download and nothing happens, please help?

Exactly what/which Linux did you download, and how did you install it? The Firefox situation that you describe does not sound normal.

i dont know the exact version but its debian, i agree its really wierd also some of the files are in html code.
