Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex lowered the bar

Wasn't worth upgrading for me. The only thing i noticed about Gnome 2.24 was that it made logging out, switching users, shutting down, restarting and locking the screen more complicated adding extra clicks. What was wrong with shutdown button at the top of the screen, seemed more streamlined/logical to me. Well at least Xfce Xubuntu kept it's shutdown streamlined. Didn't have the openoffice 3.0. We've had openoffice 3.0 on my family's windoze pc for awhile. I guess the wireless stuff is good for Dell to put on laptops. Xubuntu seemed ok and Kubuntu KDE 4.1.2 looked interesting. 8.10 Broke sound for me. Sound worked better in 8.04 for me. I reloaded 8.04. I'm listening to AOL radio on it right now. Didn't see any must have application upgrades. 1st ubuntu upgrade that I went back to the previous version. I hope the next is more inspiring than this one. I think 6 months is not enough time to get a version polished enough.
