A comparative look at compact sysadmin distributions

Far as I know, Knoppix 5.1 has ntfs-3g on it. Nothing like a full Knoppix CD to deal with machines that other smaller distros lack the drivers for. I tried Gparted Live CD on a Dell machine just yesterday and the X Server simply wouldn't come up. Loaded up Knoppix 5.1 which also has Gparted on it - resized an NTFS partition, no problem.

And who's worried about 300MB memory capacity? Practically any server is going to have more than that these days.

Nowadays a full Linux distro loaded on a big USB key is the way to go.
