Re: Improve system performance by moving your log files to RAM

Hi all,

I have installed this tool on my linux box (running as router, security webcam, samba, apache, a few other applications), it's a small pc with no hard disk and Ubuntu Server installed on a USB pendrive.
I was worried that the many log write cycles would destroy my pendrive in a short time so I decided to log to ram and then regularly flush to the pendrive.
I decided to use ramlog and it looks like working fine, I dump the logs once a day; I'm happy to always have them ready even though they are not critical, in case of crash or power down (really really infrequent) it is acceptable to lose the last day.
I hope this helps.
