Intuit's TurboTax for US federal income tax has no Linux alternative that covers all the forms and provides all the instruction and hints about possible deductions, rules to beware, etc. HR Block's TaxCut doesn't come close (even on real Windows), and TaxAct for Linux needs another decade of work. The various web-only solutions are _not_ secure. Read the privacy policy; it does _not_ say, "The only thing we do with your data is reformat it for the IRS, then permanently and totally erase it after N days." You can be sure that the databrokers have found a way to get what they are after.
