Screenlets add customized functionality to the desktop

The duplication of applications already available on the Gnome Panel is done for a reason. Many people would rather not actually use Gnome Panel as it is quite "ordinary" when compared to composited toolbars like Cairo-Dock or Avant Window Navigator. One of the best things that Screenlets provides is an avenue to be finally rid of the Gnome Panel.

For some this may sound silly. For those of us that are desktop users (rather than power users or in server/production environments) and prefer to have nicely done, flashy composited desktops that are actually better, more functional and prettier than Leopard/Aero. Screenlets provides the avenue to the last barrier - the ugly and ordinary Gnome Panel.

Huzzah Screenlets!
