Yes, it was Ximian

Quite correct, as in "Ximian Evolution" and the "Ximian Desktop". Matter of fact, "http://www.ximian.com" redirects to Novell's Web site.

I like Evolution. I use it every day as a MS Exchange Server mail client, via WebDAV. There are some glitches (calendar reminders don't go off when they should), but fortunately those are minor for me. As a straight-up IMAP client / PIM, Evolution's terrific, and I heartily recommend it as a MS Outlook or Outlook Express replacement. This is especially true for home users migrating to GNU/Linux.

Novell has done a whole lot of good for the Free Software community. Fighting this SCOndalous lawsuit in court and burying McBride & Co. is a very good thing. If only Novell hadn't made that patent deal with Microsoft!
