Data center? Come on, this feature is for laptop users, not for server (where it is more reasonable to use fstab). But even on servers you have to be root to be able to automount via fstab. This is not good for sshfs. And if you put afuse in .bash_profile, it would be simplier to mount sshfs than using sshfs itself.
