codecs are free

The codecs are free software, they are just encumbered by patents is particular counties. I highly doubt that even today, that Fedora doesn't violate many patents in various counties around the world. With the wide spread abuse of patent law, it's is not technologically feasible to make a modern operating system with doing so. All Fedora is doing is removing some famous ones, such as the mp3. I think codec buddy is a limp wrist compromise by a distro that hasn't even gotten itself to be a 100% free software distro. First do that, then take a stand on something and stay firm.
