VMware Workstation 6 virtually trounces the competition

Nice article, I completely agree. Workstation 6 is a big improvement over 5 and the best product currently available if you need a true desktop experience inside a VM (sound, video, USB 2, etc).

I'm running the Linux version on Ubuntu 7.04 on an HP nx6320 host with Core2 Duo and 4GB RAM. My virtual XP guest on a Linux host runs faster and smoother than the original Vista install that came with the laptop. VMware Workstation 6 offers the best of both worlds for those of us who prefer open source but occasionally need a windows OS for one reason or another. The hassle of dual-booting preventing me from switching totally to Linux in the past because I rely on a few critical windows applications, but Workstation solves that problem for me.
