I agree with the first commenter. If I am running X and Gnome, it is not a server. Why would a desktop user be using stable? Servers should be on stable. One other thing to add to the first commenter, once you have everything set up the way you like you can use just the security repo's. That way you will only get bug fixes and their dependencies. On a side note, since woody I have very rarely had a problem with doing updates on debian. I must be much more careful on a centos box. I get a distinct feeling that the author is buying into the riff between debian and rh distro's.
