i didn't read this article, but i would like to mention that my bank has a web interface which allows me to export my transactions to excel.. this lets me review my finances in whatever way i want, draw graphs etc. since it looks quite a general approach to me i think most banks will have it. sure, i can't see what my $500 withdraw was actually used for, but at least for me, it's not something to use an application where i need to manually track everything
