The dangers of automatic updates

A correction: Debian never pulls anything from experimental unless you specifically ask for it. Also, every feature in Debian is aimed at users of the stable branch which only receives security updates and bug fixes. And if you use stable you should never include any of the other branches anyway. So with those prerequisites the auto updater is fairly safe.

You don't want auto updating if you use testing/ unstable of course, but then again if you use any of those you are expected to take care of your self ;)
