Manage partitions and disks with GParted-Clonezilla live CD

I tried using Clonezilla on my slowly dieing 120GB primary HDD, to no avail. It kept thowing errors at various points in the imaging process (writing the image directly to my new 250GB internal HDD or to a 320GB USB external HDD). I'm not sure if it had problems dealing with the soft errors from my primary HDD or in the act of writing the data (the exception handling leaves a bit to be desired).

I've since done a clean WinXP Pro (for work stuff) and Ubuntu 7.04 install and (I think) managed to successfully copy over my required old data. I've struggled for years to find a "bare-metal" disaster recovery tool in Linux - I thought Clonezilla might be it, but, for me, it just didn't get it done.
