Google Desktop for Linux: Plain ol' desktop search

Posted by: ggvrsn on June 29, 2007 03:42 PM
My desktop is a Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, Xandros 4.0, 350 GB of used space (mostly pictures, docs, manuals and MythTV recordings) Have not seen any degradation in performance yet. It says it requires 5.3 idle hours to index. On my other PC, which runs Mandriva Spring 2007.1, beagle does very good work and have not had any issues.

I hope Google adds encryption to the search results on Linux as they have on Windows. I dont care much about the gadgets as SuperKaramba does the job.
