Virtualbox on 64-bit Ubuntu works like a charm

I was not very impressed with Virtualbox. I ran it on 64bit Mandriva. Virtualbox only supports a few distros and trying to run distros that are not on the supported list proved to be an exercise in futility. At least PCLinuxOS was too buggy and Sidux failed to boot. VMware was like that 5 years ago.

Don't try to run more than one virtual OS at a time either. You will probably end up using the power switch to recover.

Since there is a free (as in beer) VMplayer and VMware server, I am more impressed that there is a GPL'ed version of Virtualbox than I am with the price. That is something worthwhile!
