If your just here to tell us that in your opinion Java sucks and everyone should be using M$<nobr> <wbr></nobr>.NET for "true" cross platform (just a sec, gotta stop laughing at that one), please re-read the subject line on this comment.
Java may not be the perfect solution but<nobr> <wbr></nobr>.NET isn't the better solution, even with MONO. If you got MS blinded developers who can only write in<nobr> <wbr></nobr>.NET then sure, Mono away and get the job done but don't come telling a FOSS news and readership that it's the be all and end all.
