This is different from the other vendors like OpenXchange and Scalix who give you a perpetual license and charge you for upgrades only. This not only makes their products cheaper than Zimbra over a 3-5 yr period, also, with Zimbra you'll have to continue to pay to keep access to extremely valuable older email data. I personally think that products that handle such sensitive data must go for a perpetural rather than a subscription model.
