Screen etc

BSD user Desperately seeking a
"portwiki" file added to each
port. For instance, when building
ports #make -V LIB_DEPENDS, etc, one
sometimes overlooks something, the other day
i installed something which *oops* needed /devel/boost/ first. I also bumped a 'lightweight
browser' (dillo-type I thought) which *oops*
had by morning installed FireFox 1.5 as a dep!
installing /screen/, I can google for hours and
have no clear indication of more involved usage.
a /security/something/ port, fails mid-build
(not configure) because "6.1 not supported" is
in a .c file...
on and on.
*no problem* if a few year-experience-already
newbie like me, but when-if we get the 20+
million xp users arriving, *eek*, with terse
manpages the majority, it isn't/is time to
have *lots* of info in the "portwiki" file
including "i built this port with"... ...
(see Forum post on this topic if interested)
