VMware is actually a virtualizer, not an emulator. So VMware will be much, much faster than QEMU, even if you are using the KQEMU module (in my experience). However, QEMU will be much more accurate and you will be able to emulate different CPU architectures, not just x86 machines. VMware is x86 only.
