User-friendly access to encrypted storage

Posted by: Anonymous Coward on February 09, 2006 01:39 AM
In contrast to the old cryptoloop, the newer dm-crypt (and cryptsetup) require users to have root privileges to access encrypted filing systems even after the initial setup.
The tool <a href="http://www.freshmeat.net/projects/cryptmount" title="freshmeat.net">'cryptmount'</a freshmeat.net> makes it easier for any user to access filesystems on demand without needing root access.
