Small errors in Why NFS Sucks

Posted by: gnb on July 25, 2006 09:17 AM
  • silly rename is not a new feature of NFSv4, it's used on v2 and v3.

  • NFS over TCP is not new with NFSv4, it's been working fine with v3 and even v2 for years. What v4 does is require TCP-like semantics of its underlying transport protocol, so it's difficult to use over UDP.

I know Olaf knows these things, so I presume the errors are the reporter's mistake.
