If you want to try and eliminate the second computer for your recording, why not run a "virtutal PC" inside your real computer and then do the recording on this machine?

For an example of this, try out Damn Small Linux Embedded version.

It is approximatly 50MB download that is a linux distro and a virtual PC and can be run from either MSWindows or from a Linux host computer.
