Just use Lycoris Desktop/LX

If you want to support a Linux desktop OS from a company that respects the GPL, just use Desktop/LX. They have the source available for both their stable and beta versions. They may be a smaller company, but at least their heads and hearts are in the right place. And they are making a name for themselves and the native apps are soon to follow if we stick with them.
